Emotional Support: Offers a listening ear, encouragement, and reassurance to help parents process their birth experience, manage stress, or navigate the emotional ups and downs of early parenthood.

Physical Support: Assists with light household tasks (e.g., laundry, dishes, or meal prep) to allow parents to rest and recover. They may also help with basic baby care (e.g., diapering, feeding baby, soothing techniques) to give parents a break.

Education and Guidance: Provides evidence-based information on newborn care, breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, sleep routines, and postpartum recovery to build parents’ confidence.

Sibling and Family Support: Helps older siblings adjust to the new baby or supports the family in maintaining routines, fostering a smooth transition.

Customized Care: Tailors support to the family’s needs, whether it’s creating a calming environment, organizing the home, or offering tips for self-care.

Katie was a powerful blessing to me and my family! She was so intentional about serving my family and me well during my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. Katie gave me information that helped prepare and empower me for the childbirth experience, and was there to answer questions I had or just give encouragement where I needed it. Katie was very professional and well prepared at all of our meetings. She has such a gentle, calm, and yet powerful presence and was just what we were hoping for in a doula! On the day of our son’s birth, Katie met us at the birth center and went on a long walk with my husband and me. She was happy to be present or disappear based on what I needed in any moment. She really helped make things easy during the first portion of my labor, which was pleasant and joyful. During transition when things got very intense and I learned that I needed to push the baby out very quickly because his heart rate was dropping, Katie was a steady and soft voice that I could rest in even in the midst of intense pressure and lots of people giving me practical instructions. She helped me get through that very difficult several minutes and celebrated with us enthusiastically when we received our baby boy. She stayed with us until it was time to go home from the birthing center and followed up with us after the birth. We can’t say enough good things about Katie. Her prayers, encouragement, and wisdom were straight from heaven! I recommend her emphatically! ~Tara B.
